The Making Of
THOUGHT

30X40" Acrylic and ink on canvas

It began as a heart-shaped planet...

Then, purple mushrooms sprouted from its vessels creating long stems with windows and doors (a common theme within the collection).

A more obvious anatomic figure is shown in the mushroom heads in the shape of an eye,  surrounded by spores and stars neatly dancing to the galactic nursery at the bottom left of the painting.

The red mushroom is surrounded by gears and vines. Traditionally, red has been associated with intense and uncontrollable feeling.

Could that be what’s inhabiting the painting’s main point of focus? My uncontrollable feelings: the constant battle between thought and heart?

“The universe looks less like a big machine than a big thought”
